Short digest this week - in part because I had very few submissions. Please note that next week's digest needs to be complete by Sunday evening.

This Wednesday - at the Bedfont Club

We will be having an informal run and social at the Bedfont & Feltham FC and Social Club, The Orchard, Hatton Road, Bedfont, Middlesex TW14 9QT. Get there from 17:30 to get changed and ready to run at 18:00.  We are still engaged in area exploration runs - individually or in groups.

The club has ample parking and is convenient from Hatton Cross tube station and local buses. The club has a bar, subsidized for members, and for formal socials we will organise to use the second room and bring in food.  Note that food is not normally available from the bar.

Contact me if you need to be reminded of any other details of the Bedfont Club (or check the back issues of this digest) - or turn-up on Wednesday and ask (no one will be turned away).

The cfp (Club Featured Parkrun) at Dinton Pastures attracted five runners, none of whom had run there before.  Neil Frediani (26:27) was the fastest on the day while Alan Anderson (34:53) achieved the best age grade score with 65.31%.  Chris Kelly’s club record of 21:08 is safe for another week.

Other tourists included Zara Thorn (30:08) who became the first to run at Preston Park in Brighton while being a current member.  Ian and Caroline Cockram both ran there before they joined us - this week they ran at Dulwich for the first time and set new club records of 23:32 and 29:47 respectively.

Ray Hampton (34:07) continued on the comeback trail at Conwy in North Wales and the club total moved on to 433 parkruns
Kay Trinder (20:49) had another good run at Woking and shaved a few more seconds off her club record there.  Her pole vaulting training is obviously doing her no harm at all, maybe more of us should try it!

Club Featured parkrun Saturday 11th August - Dinton Pastures Report

Six of us with links to BA or the running club ran at Dinton Pastures on Saturday - pictured from left to right Roderick Hoffman, dream mile regular James Greaves (consecutive weeks with his picture in the digest!), Trish McCabe, Neil Frediani, Alan Friar and Alan Anderson (attracting most interest due to his "500" shirt).

The course involved two different laps around the lakes with just enough in common to the laps to get you confused as to where you were. It was well marshalled and had good facilities including the cafe but at £1.50 an hour it felt better value if you came with friends (thanks Trish and Alan A).

Andy's Training

Dear Ed.

Yesterday my XC time was 36.40 and I did not meet any tigers on the way because last time out I did!

Hopefully, colleagues will know what that is.
