Trick or Treat?

Halloween's night double bill - the first handicap 5 miler of the year followed by an hour in the Sports Hall, then drinks in the bar and the next horror showing of Chelsea/Man Utd on the clubhouse TVs (probably).  Avoids all the "trick or treat"ers...apart perhaps from Brian in the bar afterwards. And the Gym Master.

Ladies Surrey League - Match 1 - Senior Race Div 2 - Wimbledon Common - 20th Oct 2012

Six of our ladies turned out for the 1st match of the season – Clara, Helen, Lissa, Marion, Melanie and Monica. There were supporters too – John Taylor, Kath and Melanie’s family.

The course seemed OK on the 1st lap but turned very muddy the 2nd lap. Some runners lost their shoes in the muddy puddles! There was some confusion at the cross point of the 1st and 2nd laps, resulting in some runners missing the 2nd lap, including our own Lissa. Those that did not run the full course were not included in the results.

Individual Results: Melanie Holman 78 35:09
  Monica Alonso 83 35:49
  Clara Halket 127 41:11
  Marion Woodhouse 140 43:31
  Helen Smith 143 43:45
Team Results: BAAC position 26 out of 38

The 2nd match will be held on Saturday, 01December at 1200hrs at Nonsuch Park. Clara will be away running the Singapore marathon and Helen is looking after the team. Anyone who intends to run please contact Helen Smith. We look forward to seeing a bigger turnout.

News for the next BAAC News Digest? Think about it - if you were to submit an item for inclusion what would it be?

The idea of this communication is to consolidate some of the news items that would otherwise be forwarded individually to all club members.  We will still send out prompt announcements for key events as separate emails. Please let us have your ideas for how club communications can be improved and please send us items for inclusion in the next Digest.  Results, news, feedback, jokes, stores - send it to us at news@barunner.org,uk.
