British Airways Athletics Club Records

The club has records marking the best achievements over measured courses and events for each age group.

To qualify as a record the event has to be competitive and accurately measured and the participant has to be a paid-up member of the club and wearing a club vest (or be in an in-house organised event). Members for whom BA is a second claim club may need permission from their first claim club for them to compete in a BA vest and claim the record (so the same performance cannot be claimed by two different clubs). If you know better, please send us your claim - we want to get these in the best shape possible. New records or questions: Stats@barunner.org.uk .

The records are contained in a read only Excel file that can be loaded from here: BA Athletics Club Records [opens new window]

Upon loading you can use the "Group", "Activity" or "Name" headings to search for specific records - for instance to select all of the records by a specific person click on the down arrow to the right of the "NAME" heading, click on "Filter..." and then deselect "(Select All)" and select the name you want to search for. Alternately you could click on "Sort A to Z" and then scroll down the list.

"Status" is a key field. Current records either have the status "Current" or, if they have been set in the last few years, "NEW". Records that have been superseded have the status of "Previous". There is also the status of "BA Vest" to indicate where a club member has exceeded a club record whilst competing in a national vest. These don't count as club records...but have to be worthy of mention! A couple of records have been equaled by a second club member. These may have "Joint" written in the "Comment" coloumn.

Records are either "...(OPEN)" across all age groups or for a specific age group such as "(MV45)" (Male, Veterans, from their 45th birthday to the day before their 50th birthday).

Activities listed here include those that will be accepted for club record purposes. These are those recognised for world records plus events commonly undertaken in the UK. Those UK events are the 5 mile road race, the 10 mile road race, the 2k track walk and the Ironman.
