BA Clubs - Club Iberia Interclub 5k or Marathon 25th March

Dear All

First of all, Happy New Year:)

Following on from previous communication about this event, here are more

Club Iberia has proposed that we all enter a local race rather than just
between our two clubs so that there is an element of competition for those
who are keen to race rather than just a social run.  Of course, it can also
be a social run for those who just want to take it easy and particiapte for
the social interaction with our Spanish counterparts.

The proposed local event takes place on the last Sunday in March - 25 March
2012 in Coslada, a town hear Madrid airport.  The event offers 2 distances
- half marathon and 5K.  The circuit is tough with many hills so it is not
a fast race, and also not crowded.  Entry fee last year was 5 EUR.  The
location is easy to get to by train from the hotel that Club Iberia usually
recommends.  From colleagues who went there last September for another
event, the feedback on the hotel is good - rates reasonable and train
station just across the road.  There are also websites that offer very good
rates on hotels that you can check out.

Paco will forward more information on start times, entry fees, deadline,
etc as soon as he gets it.

What I need now is your firm commitment to this event.  Now that you know
the date, I hope it is easier for you to plan your work, holiday, marathon
training, etc around it.  Club Iberia would like to arrange a joint
carbo dinner with their runners on the Saturday evening (split costs) for
those who would like to join in.

I am hoping for a good turnout for this.  It will be very helpful if
you can confirm your participation by the middle of February - or earlier
if required by Club Iberia (I will send another email if this is the case).

Hotel: I checked out the hotel that was recommended to us by Club Iberia, and have
made my booking through website.  I opted for the one without
breakfast but changeable up to 23Mar12.  I put the link below for you to
check out the various options / prices.  You may wish to make your booking
now if you have confirmed your participation.  So far I have 3
confirmations - myself, Piers Keenleyside (and possibly the missus) and
